Hometown Hopefuls
As part of NBC Olympics’ Hometown Hopefuls series spotlighting athletes and their communities, Kendall discusses the impact of her hometown on her women’s hockey career with Team USA.

Kendall and her husband, Michael Schofield, who won a Super Bowl title with the Denver Broncos, share a love of sports that opened up a world of opportunities for them. They have an unparalleled desire to help others, a desire that transcends their sporting talents. Since their first date in 2014, Kendall and Michael have nurtured a dream – a dream to start a foundation.
Together, they brought this dream to life by creating the Kendall and Michael Schofield Family Foundation. This foundation is their labor of love, dedicated to providing funding, support, and raising awareness to improve the lives of others in their cherished communities. They are committed to supporting the military, first responders, youth sports organizations, families in need, and furthering the advancement of education and research.

The foundation has supported the creation of the Kendall Coyne Dream Big Park and the Michael Schofield III Sports Complex, reaffirming its commitment to building inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging for children and strengthen the community.
Each year since 2019, the foundation has awarded the Schofield Family Foundation Scholarship to a senior student-athlete at Carl Sandburg High School, where both Kendall and Michael attended. The scholarship aims to support and empower the continued growth of a game changer and leader within the community.
Kendall and Michael are filled with gratitude for the love and support they’ve received from their family, friends, and fans. They extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports the Kendall and Michael Schofield Family Foundation.
